Today is our tour of Rome, I can't brag about the weather today it was cool and spitting rain when we got up and it did not get any better as the day went on, as a matter of fact it got worse and got to a steady rain. The tour of the Vatican and Rome was more that I had expected. Our first stop was the Vatican and the tour of the Sistine Chapel and Saint Peters Basilica. The treasures in the museum area would take days to see properly. I found it interesting to stand in Saint Peter's square where we see pictures of crowds on TV that come to see the Pope. From there we could see the Pope's apartment and the balcony that is used on special occasions. That the Vatican is the smallest county in the world came as news to me (44 hectars ). It was a great visit until we had to go out into the rain.
After the Vatican we went for a super lunch at a local restaurant and then had time to see the Colosseum, as it was raining so hard we only walked around the outside and did not spent the 12 euros each to go inside. Now that I am back and thinking about it I know we should have taken the time. I know some tempers were getting a little short. Everyone was happy to get back on the bus for the 1.5 hour ride back to the ship.
After getting back to the ship I watched the video on the tours of Rome now I realize that we need weeks to see the ruins of Rome.
We were too tired to get working on this blog before bed last eveing so I am sitting in the library typing and watching he rain pelt down with about 40km per hour winds. It is not looking good for tomorrow and our day in Athens. Last evening something woke me up when I looked out the ship was still in the water, from a note left at our room they advised that someone had to have an emergency evacuation from the ship about 2:30 in the morning. We will be delayed getting into port tomorrow.
I did not get this blog posted yesterday as the seas got quite rough. Waves were up to 20 feet and the ship was pitching quite a bit. I was not feeling the best and internet is quite slow with the antennas pitching around.

Too bad about the rough seas and the rain! It's too bad you didn't have better weather for the coliseum as it's worth seeing. The Forum just beside it was even more interesting I thought. You need to go back when you'll have more time....Looking forward to more blog!
