I must say it again, we awoke to sunny sky's and warm temperatures in the port of Funchal on the island of Madeira Portugal. The first sight from the ship again reminds one of Hawaii with the volcanic cliffs and green hill sides.
Ray is feeling better so we wiere able to do the tour together, I found yesterday by my self was not a lot of fun. We left the ship about 1 pm for our tour of Funchal and area. We traveled on a fairly new coach and for that I am glad, the hills we climbed and descended were something else, the corners and traffic on very narrow roads. In many places one of us had to pull over to allow passing. Not for the faint of heart.
As much I liked Grande Canary, Funchal was just that much better. It is one of the favorites of European tourist as well. The temperatures year around are very moderate and with the elevation gain crops of all kinds can be grown, the fishing is good and there is no shortage of water.
Ray and I both agree this is a place we could come back to. Tomorrow we can rest we will have a day at sea before we arrive in Malaga Spain. As there will not be anything to write about I will not make a post.
